Thanks to numerous e-Government initiatives at the national, local as well as the EU levels, we are fortunate to be able, even today, to take care of a large number of official matters online!
Deadline-critical applications - due dates
More and more services involving critical deadlines are being made available to citizens online (e.g. applying for business licenses) and some of them are even becoming compulsory to use (e.g. reporting value added tax).
The availability of these services must be ensured!
An attack on these services has fatal effects for authorities as well as public revenue (value added tax) and puts citizens in awkward situations as well (an application submitted at the last minute is still on time - as long as the service is available).
Protection of e-Government solutions is an additional service to the public!
